Though AJ Green has good size and athletic ability--after evaluating him on tape his skills in no way dictate he should be selected #4 overall!
Whenever selecting a prospect in the NFL Draft you should always be looking to acquire good value. In this case this would be considered bad value.
When you are selected #4 overall--not only will you be paid as one of the top WRs in the entire NFL before standing foot on the field--but you better produce as such since the team that selected you (Cincinnati Bengals) will be paying you as such.
AJ Green is a one dimensional type WR--in that his one and only thing he is good at is spreading the field & going up and getting balls. Which is an excellent trait but at the NFL level to be considered an elite receiver he needed to show more on film transitioning from the collegiate to NFL level.
He lacks good explosion after stop & go situations. Which if he is going to become a top level WR at NFL level he will need to do. How many times in his collegiate career have you seen him take a short pass or hitch and take it the distance?????? Rare I'm sure!
Ha if Green had been selected in the late 1st RD or early 2nd RD his draft status would be looked upon totally different. But since he was taken where he was 4th overall the Cincinnati Bengals will look back and regret this selection!

Travis Cobb -- MB -- Arizona - 5-11 - 180 - 4.38/40
Strength
His main position throughout his collegiate career was at the Wide Receiver position. But his skill sets dictate his talent would be best utilized at Multi Back position. Meaning give him touches wherever he needs to line up---just get him the ball. He is a playmaker!
He was such an underutilized weapon within his team’s offensive game plan. He possesses the type of talent that easily could have made him a collegiate All-American.
He possesses a solid athletically put together build to his frame. He displays such first step burst and explosion out the box.
He received limited balls thrown his direction but when he did have targets thrown his direction he displayed excellent hands---body control and adjustment to balls thrown outside the box.
Once defenders near his fluid change of direction---quick feet---and balance make him a talent to behold. It also makes for a long day for defenders who try to bring him down. Many times finding themselves off balance grabbing for air!
When in the open where he can use his speed---the stride in which he runs with is so fluid and compact. There is no wasted motion in his stride. It is the same stride and instincts that make him a very effective kickoff returner. His special teams return skills can only add to his value as a prospect.
Weaknesses
Low production during collegiate career
Summary
There is no question he is a 1st round talent if utilized properly. Due to his lack of touches---therefore production---dropped his draft value. He needs 15--20 touches through
multiple positions as a kick returner---wide receiver---screens---etc. The fact that he wasn't drafted is more directed at those who are evaluating the film--not any question of his talents!

Aldon Smith -- 4-3/DE -- Missouri - 6-4 - 265 - 4.74/40
Strength
His skill sets dictate his best long term position as a 4-3/DE
He possesses good upfield push off the edge pursuing QB/ ball carrier
Displays good straight line speed
Weaknesses
Lacks multiple position flexibility due to lack of overall agility to play the OLB effectively
Lacks good change of direction (limiting potential impact plays)
Liability versus the run (lacks stoutness at point of attack)
Improved hand technique versus opposing blockers
Summary
Aldon Smith was selected much higher than evaluations dictated. He went 7th overall--when we had him valued as a late 2nd RD value! Though he is an underclassman with a high potential
upside--the bottomline his overall skill sets weren't evidant in him reaching that upside.

Dom DeCicco -- SS -- Pittsburgh - 6-3 - 230 - 4.64/40
Strength
He possesses excellent size with a sturdy build--ideal for next level. His high level of athleticism seems to consistently go unnoticed!
He consistently displays a willingness to come up and support the run with an eagerness rarely evaluated.
He shows excellent tackling both in one on one and in open field situations. There are no questions to his tackling skills.
For a larger sized strong safety he displays surprising ability to cover large areas of the field defensing the run
He is a playmaker in that not only does he find his way around the ball--but either makes a play on the ball/ ball carrier--or comes away with ball.
He is as talented and versatile of a safety evaluated in this entire 2011 draft class!
Weaknesses
Questionable change of direction in and out of stop and goes situations
Summary
DeCicco was my highest rated Strong Safety in this years draft period! He was given a late 3rd RD value.Yet he went undrafted???????? He displayed a high level of skill and talent performed whenever evaluated on film. Guess time will tell if this prospect should have been draft worthy?
